Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in Oppositional defiant Disorder: A case study


Abstract
This paper describes the Oppositional Defiant Disorder, its features and the a case study of full treatment of an 8 year old child affected by this disorder. As a strategy was used, Psychoeducation, an Parent Training Program, train in empathy, anger management, and socials skills with the child and relapse prevention. Treatment duration was six months through 24 sessions and a follow – up interview. Symptomatology partially remitted in treatment. There was a relapse in symptoms seven months after and a new intervention in solving problem training was applied.
