The clinical research-psychopraxiology relation problem in argentina: a methodological and epistemological analysis on the issues of validity and efficacy

Abstract
The historical development of psychology in Argentina has led to a relatively marginal development of research in clinical psychology and to a marginal impact of such research in undergraduate education. The present paper lists and analyzes certain ideas and constructs from the fields of the methodology of scientific research and to a lesser extent from the epistemology of psychology, which would collaborate with identifying and reformulating erroneous notions and assumptions in local traditions. Given the local tendency to identify psychotherapy with basic or applied research, the various validity types in clinical researches are addressed and the question of the analysis of the effectiveness of interventions based on single case designs is analyzed. We conclude on the theoretical and practical feasibility of implementing single-case research designs for scientific purposes in psychopraxiologies. Key words: Research methodology, epistemology of psychology, single case designs, validity.
