EFFECT OF A GROUP INTERVENTION PROGRAM WITH DBT FOR SELF-INJURIOUS BEHAVIORS WITHOUT SUICIDAL INTENTIONALITY

Abstract
The objective of the research was to design and establish the effect of a group intervention program with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for self-injurious behavior without suicidal intentionality. The design was quasi-experimental and the sample consisted of 14 adolescents between 13 and 17 years old. Measurements were taken with the subscale of thoughts related to self-harm (EPCA-P), the subscale of self-injury (EPCA-A), the scale of difficulties in emotional regulation (DERS), the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and the Inventory of anxiety of Beck (BAI). The intervention was performed and post-test measurements were taken. The results indicate that there are statistically significant differences between the pre-test and post-test scores of the EPCA-P, the DERS, the BDI and the BAI.
