SEXTING AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH EARLY MALADAPTIVE SCHEMES IN ADOLESCENTS

Abstract
The objective of this study is to analyze the influence of the Early Inadaptation Schemes (EIS) on the practice of sexting, taking as a sample a population of 609 high school students from Cuenca (Ecuador). The Young scale (Cronbach's alpha 0.91) was used to identify the EIS, and a questionnaire on sexting. In this study, a 52.2% prevalence of this practice was observed. Teenagers exchanging sexual material through electronic devices have experienced the following factors associated with sexting: abandonment (p <0.001), insufficient self-discipline (p <0.001), distrust, abuse, (p <0.037), emotional deprivation (p <0.005), self - sacrifice (p <0.028), inflexible standard 1 / self-demand (p <0.005) and grandiosity (p <0.001). Contraceptive use is considered as a protective factor, as well as being male; an important risk factor is pregnancy.
