THE EVALUATION OF A PROGRAM IN COLOMBIA TO PREVENT ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION. LEARNED LESSONS

Abstract
In this article, we present the evaluations of a substance use prevention program in the Latin America context. We took the evaluation data of the Healthy program from the year 2009 and calculated the confidence intervals of the difference of means or proportions, depending on the variable in each case. The results show that the program has a positive effect on the prevention of alcohol consumption by influencing the risk and the normative influences perceived by adolescents. Although the results show that the program has a positive effect on the prevention of alcohol consumption by influencing the risk and normative influences perceived by adolescents, we also analyze the lessons learned from the evaluation process developed, within the context of the limitations of resources of the reality of the design and implementation of evidence-based prevention programs in Latin America.
