ANALYSIS ON THE POPULARITY OF CHINESE SHARP WORDS BASED ON SOCIAL IDENTITY MODEL OF COLLECTIVE ACTION


Abstract
Recent years has seen the proliferation of Chinese sharp words, both online and in real life. From the perspective of social psychology, this paper attributes the popularity of these words to collective behaviors. The social identity model of collective action (SIMCA) was introduced to analyze the reasons for the popularity of Chinese sharp words from three dimensions, namely, collective
identity, collective mood and collective efficacy. On this basis, the author summed up the collective psychological law in the spread and popularity of sharp words. The research provides new insights into the application of psychological theory in linguistic analysis.
