RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CULTURAL IDENTITY, SUBJECTIVE WELL-BEING AND INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION BETWEEN CHINA AND LATIN AMERICA


Abstract
This paper aims to disclose the relationship between cultural identity, subjective well-being and the intercultural communication between China and Latin America. First, the evolution and features of intercultural communication between China and Latin America were discussed in details, and the role of national identity in that process was reviewed. Then, the economic and trade exchanges between China and Brazil and the number of Confucius Institutes in Brazil were taken as the examples for data analysis on ChinaLatin America intercultural communication. Next, a questionnaire survey was carried out in Minzu University of China to obtain the views of Chinese and Latin American students on national identity and intercultural communication. Through analysis on the survey data, it is concluded that the cultural identity of Latin America is underlying the China-Latin America intercultural communication, and is increasingly understood by Chinese; the Chinese and Latin American have the subjective sense of happiness, following the accelerated economic and trade exchanges between the two parties. The research results help to promote intercultural communication between different cultures.
