AN UPDATE ON EMPIRICAL RESEARCH INTO THE PERSONAL STYLE OF THE THERAPIST
Abstract
The present work is an update about the empirical research of the Personal Style of the Therapist. It describes the construct and its evaluation instrument: the PST-Q. We considered 4 kinds of studies: the usage of the PST-Q as a moderator variable of the psychotherapy outcomes, diferences in the PST between therapists that work with different clinical populations, differences between therapists with different grade of experience and different theoric and technical orientations, and facts about their stability through time. It describes an actual project and, finally, the different research groups that are using the PST. In the conclusions this information is evaluated.
