Psychotherapy in other countries. Psychotherapy in Malaysia
Abstract
As a young and developing profession for the last two decades, psychotherapy in Malaysia is not widely known to those outside of the country. Therefore, this paper provides a sketch of the condition of psychotherapy currently practiced in Malaysia, as well as how it all began. The social-cultural context was discussed to give readers a frame of reference in understanding the local psychotherapy issues. In addition, the paper concludes with several contemporary issues of concern within the field and the anticipated future directions.
