Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-21): Adaptation and psychometrics properties in secondary school students from temuco
Abstract
The psychometrics properties of the short version of Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-21; Lovibond y Lovibond, 1995) were evaluated in 448 secondary school students selected trough stratified and cluster sampling. This study included the cultural and idiomatic adaptation of the scales. After signing informed consent and assent, participants completed the following instruments: short version of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-21), Beck Depression Inventory – Second Edition (BDI-II), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and a Sociodemographic survey. Results showed that the DASS- 21 has an acceptable reliability and satisfactory convergent and divergent validity in this sample. Its factorial structure was reached through a modified three factor model with correlated error terms that showed an acceptable fit to the data.
