Investigation of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder About the Rural and Urban School-Age Children in Guangxi, China
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to train primary school teachers to find out suspected ADHD children to help psychiatrist to find out rural and urban epidemiological investigation of children and treat the patients as early as possible. 360 urban grade one students as well as 100 rural grade one students were screened with SNAP-IV scale by teachers, Kiddie-Sads-Present and Lifetime Version (K-SADS-PL) by psychiatrist. The findings suggest morbidity of ADHD in boys is higher than that of girls, and morbidity of ADHD in rural region (7%) is higher than that in urban region (5.28%) in Guangxi. It was very helpful to train primary school teachers to find out ADHD children and treat the patients as early as possible.
