Roles in Families that keep Company to Patients in a Psychiatric Clinic of Medellín- Colombia


Abstract
This article aims to interpret roles in families of patients of a psychiatric clinic. Methodology approach was qualitative; strategy was a case study ; data collection was done through interviews and focus groups; information analysis was done with help of the software Atlas-Ti V6; participants were patients, families, and professionals of the interdisciplinary team of the clinic. Results suggest that the role of families that keep company for patients is relevant for the actors of the process of intervention, given the nature of the crisis in the patients and the support that families may offer. This aspect is determinant for the goals in the process of intervention in the clinic.
