STUDY ABOUT PAIN EXPERIENCE IN PRETERM HOSPITALIZED INFANTS. SOME FINDINGS IN HEALTH PERSONNEL DURING FIELD WORK
Abstract
During a stay in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) premature infants live various situations, but pain is the one that always repeats. Therefore, a study analyzing premature babies’ reactions during painful procedure routines was conducted. Possible responses are both physiological and behavioral. Within this framework, it was possible to observe health personnel reactions to painful procedures performed on babies. Due to their willingness to help the patient, they could increase their interest in pain management and in finding alternative solutions when substances to alleviate this suffering were not available.
