Abstract
The formation of ideological and political identity is highlighted in Chinese colleges. This paper aims to identify the psychological features and formation mechanism of this identity among Chinese college students. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted in 30 colleges in Beijing, China. Based on the survey data, the author analyzed the psychological features and structure of ideological and political identity among the college students, and then statistically discussed the current situation, formation and obstacles of this identity. The results show that most college students in China identify themselves with the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the socialist system and the socialist core values; there are three psychological transitions in the development of their ideological and political identity: from negative identity to positive identity, from perceptual identity to rational identity, and from spontaneous identity to conscious identity; the main obstacles of the identity include the self-enclosed psychology, the rebellious psychology, the conformity psychology, and the undisciplined psychology. This research provides a panorama of the ideological and political education in China.
