PSYCHOLOGICAL ACCEPTANCE MECHANISM OF THE AUDIENCE OF IDEOLOGICAL AND POLITICAL EDUCATION AND ITS INFLUENCING FACTORS


Abstract
Ideological and political (I&P) education is a unique yet important type of education in China. Based on the theories on audience psychology and the I&P education, this paper classifies the psychological acceptance mechanism of the I&P audience by three criteria, namely, the range of psychological acceptance, development stage and the I&P education content. Then, the basic content of the psychological acceptance mechanism was analyzed for the I&P audience, and the influencing factors of that mechanism was identified through a questionnaire survey. The results show that the psychological acceptance mechanism of the I&P audience is mainly affected by the following factors: the needs, cognitive processes, moods and emotions of the audience, the overall quality, teaching content and educational methods of the teachers, as well as the family environment, social environment, campus environment, and the new network environment. The research results provide a reference for improving the I&P education from the psychological perspective.
