IMPROVEMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH OF LABOURERS THROUGH THE PUBLICITY OF SOCIAL SECURITY LAW
Abstract
The social security law safeguards the rights and interests of citizens, especially the vulnerable groups like labourers. Many labourers are suffering from great stress and even mental health problems, because of their insecurity about personal rights. This paper aims to improve the mental health of labourers through the publicity of social security law. The original data were collected through a questionnaire survey on labourers in Guangdong Province, China, and subjected to statistical analysis. The results show that the comprehensive coverage is the ultimate goal of the publicity of social security law; the female labourers have more serious mental health problems than male labourers, but their mental health are greatly improved after the publicity of social security laws. This paper provides a theoretical basis for protecting the rights of labourers with the social security law.
