PSYCHOLOGICAL ADAPTATION AND INFLUENCING PSYCHOLOGICAL FACTORS OF TEACHERS OF CHINESE AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE IN CROSS-CULTURAL COMMUNICATION


Abstract
Teachers of Chinese as a foreign language shoulder great responsibility in cultural exchange. Their work efficiency is severely suppressed by the mental pressure from cross-cultural communication. This paper aims to clarify the psychological adaptation of such teachers in cross-cultural communication, and identify the psychological factors that affect the cross-cultural communication. The research data were collected through scientific questionnaires and analyzed in details. The results show that most teachers of Chinese as a foreign language have good psychological adaptability in cross-cultural communication, despite the presence of some problems; during their study and work abroad, these teachers generally have no obstacle in daily life and language communication, but may face setbacks in social contact and values; their psychological adaptation to cross-cultural communication is affected by daily life, language, social contact and values. The research results shed light on mental health protection of teachers of Chinese as a foreign language.
